Gita reflection Ch 1 verses 45 & 46

 6th February 2024

  • Living our lives without putting forth extra effort does not lead to progress. This especially applies to all spiritual practices.
  • As we grow older, physical health will be a challenge despite following strict diet plans and daily workouts. Conversely, every step that we take to apply our spiritual knowledge to reduce our ego, makes us progressively calm and content, despite our physical age
  • Arjuna has a dilemma between the two: personal well-being (क्षेम) and spiritual upliftment (मोक्ष). He wants to settle down for immediate gain, due to the fear of the pain involved in fighting the battle for the right cause.
  • If Arjuna has decided not to fight the war with a conviction that it is the right course of action, why does he suffer distress and grief?
  • He knows that his decision is not right and that he needs guidance from his mentor, Krishna!
